Channels Broadcasting the 2019 PGA Championship

As I mentioned before, you can watch the 2019 PGA Championship on a handful of channels, including:

  • TNT (USA)
  • PGA Channel (USA)
  • CBS (USA)
  • TSN (Canada)
  • Sky Sports (UK)
  • Canal+ (France)
  • Fox Sports (Australia)
  • Sky NZ (New Zealand)
  • Supersport (South Africa)

You should know that all these services will only broadcast the tournament in their respective regions due to copyright agreements. This means that if you live outside these countries, you can’t access the above channels. That’s because your IP address gives away your geographic location to the internet. As a result, the content of these websites becomes off limits once they know that you are outside their coverage zone.

Therefore, the only way to bypass their online restrictions is via a virtual private network (VPN).

How to Watch 2019 PGA Championship with VPN

A VPN is a tool that can spoof your physical location by hiding your IP address. It uses software to reroute your internet connection to a foreign network of your choice. Then, it grants you a new IP address from the region that you selected to make it appear as if you live there. This will trick the likes of CBS, Sky Sports, and Canal+ to unblock their content.

Therefore, if you want to watch the tournament on the PGA Channel, for example, you simply connect to a US server. Better yet, just follow the below steps and you’ll be able to watch the 2019 PGS Championship from anywhere:

  1. Sign up to a reputable VPN service that has a large server network like ExpressVPN.
  2. Download and install the app on your device. You can also install it on routers, smart TVs, and gaming consoles.
  3. Sign in and launch the service.
  4. Connect to a server from any of the countries mentioned above, depending on which streaming service you want to use.
  5. Double check your new IP address on WhatIsMyIP.network. This new Internet Protocol label will make it look like you’re a resident inside the region that you’re connected to.
  6. See who will be the 2019 PGA master.

About the 2019 PGA Championship

The 2019 PGA Championship will kick off on May 16 at Bethpage Black in New York. The course hosted the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, won by Tiger Woods and Lucas Glover, respectively.

The 101st edition will establish a new place within golf’s major championship rotation becoming the second of four annual events and moving from August to May. The tournament is the only all-professional major championship with 156 players competing annually.

The winner will lift the Wanamaker Trophy, which is the largest of the four major championship trophies. “It is named after Rodman Wanamaker, the founder of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, who paid for the first tournament and donated the first trophy,” according to the PGA website.

Brooks Koepka is the defending champion. He shot a 16-under to hold off Tiger Woods, who finished second with a 14-under. The PGA champions also receive the largest share of the winner’s purse. In 2018, the purse was $11 million, and Koepka got $1,980,000 for his win.

2017 tournament winner withdrew from this year’s championship due to a lingering wrist injury.
“Unfortunately I will be withdrawing from the 101st PGA Championship at Bethpage Black this week as my wrist is not yet fully healed,” Thomas said in a statement. “Obviously, as a past champion, this tournament is extra special to me. It consistently has the strongest field in golf and I’m disappointed to not be among those competing this year but I’m optimistic about a return in the near future.”
