FIFA Club World Cup – Streaming Media Rights

Well, it’s under the name of FIFA, so you can guess how popular it is when it comes to global reach. The competition pits the best of the best clubs against each other until one comes out victorious in the end.

The Club World Cup has a lot of official broadcasters all over the world. However, despite having a global reach, these channels are only available in their respective countries. You see, streaming channels apply what we call geo-blocks. A defense mechanism used to protect licensing rights in a specific location.

If your internet traffic is coming from outside these regions, the channel will be able to pinpoint your location by examining your IP address. Your public IP reveals a lot about you, and once the channel determines your whereabouts, your access will be instantly terminated.

Let me give you an example. One of the channels on our list is SBS – an Australian-based streaming service. The channel doesn’t operate outside Australia, which means you need to have an Australian IP address to use it. If you’re living abroad, that’s exactly what you lack, and this is exactly what you get:

“Sorry, this video is only available to stream within Australia due to publishing rights.”SBS Error 2

To reach a solution, you must know the problem first. But we’ll get back to that later on in the article. As for now, these are the official broadcasters of the 2019 FIFA World Cup:

Important:

You may have noticed the * sign next to some of the channels. Please note the FIFA hasn’t made any official announcements about some of these broadcasters. If anything comes up later on, I’ll make sure this guide is updated. Sportsnet is rumored to hold the official broadcasting rights in Canada, but we’re not sure yet. Once any official announcements are made, you’ll be the first to know.

Now that we covered which channels are your options, let’s get to the part where you get to access them wherever you are, shall we?

Stream FIFA Club World Cup 2019 on a Global Scale

The competition taking place in Qatar will be available in every household across 195 countries once you’re done with this guide. To access a certain channel, you must seem to be connected to the internet from within its respective country.

The easiest and most effective way to this is through the use of a Virtual Private Network. Commonly known as a VPN, this online software can change your online location and make it appear as if you’re browsing the web from a country of your choosing.

It all depends on the server you connect to. Once you establish a connection, your internet traffic will go through a private tunnel, which encrypts it and hides your identity in the process. Once the VPN encrypts your data, it’ll be next to impossible for any hacker to intercept and harvest it. Also, you’ll be browsing the web in full anonymity, avoiding any monitoring attempt by your IPS.

Furthermore, you’ll get an IP address valid in the country where the server is based. For example, if you connect to an Australian server, you’ll obtain an Australian IP address. As a result, you’ll be able to access the likes of SBS and any other Australian-based channel available. The same method can be used with all the services on our list if you connect to a server in their respective countries.

The 2019 FIFA Club World Cup

I’m really looking forward to seeing Liverpool take on the best of the best in this upcoming tournament in Qatar. I bet it’s going to be one heck of a ride for all soccer fans around the world. In my opinion, The Reds are the favorites to win as they’re advancing straight to the semi-finals thanks to their Champions League win, but so is the Copa Libertadores winner.

This year will be the last we see the World Cup as it is. Two years later, in 2021, the competition is going through an altering process. It’ll be played every four years (World Cup, Duh) and will also be replacing the current seven-team format with 24 teams. One more thing. You’ll also have to expect in June and July, not December.

Now, with that said, shall we take a look at the competition’s schedule before December 11th, 2019 hits our calendar?

Round 1 (11th December)

  • Match 1: Al Sadd v Hienghene Sport

Round 2 (14th December)

  • Match 2: Monterrey v Winner of Match 1
  • Match 3: AFC winner v Es Tunis

Semi-finals

  • Semi-final 1: Copa Libertadores winner v Winner of Match 3 (17th December)
  • Semi-final 2: Liverpool v Winner of Match 2 (18th December)

Final (December 21st)

  • Winner of Semi-final 1 v Winner of Semi-final 2

Previous Winners

Real Madrid has three consecutive wins so far. But they won’t be included in this year’s competition, so a new champion is guaranteed. Could this be Liverpool’s year? Will they add another trophy? We don’t know anything yet, but we do know who the previous winners are. Check them out:

Real Madrid has been dominating this championship with three consecutive wins. Now, in 2019, Liverpool has a chance to add another record to their resume.
